Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 27, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, how HF Media Corp uses them on hfmediastudio.com, and the choices you have. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit. Cookies allow the site to recognize you across pages or visits, remember preferences, and gather basic analytics. Similar technologies include browser local storage, session storage, and pixel tags.
2. Categories we use
We group cookies into three categories. You control analytics and marketing cookies through our consent banner; you can change your choices anytime via the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.
Essential (always on)
These are necessary for the site to function. They cannot be turned off in our systems.
- theme (localStorage) — remembers your light/dark mode choice. First-party. Persistent until cleared.
- hfm_cookie_consent_v1(localStorage) — stores your consent decision so we don’t prompt you on every visit. First-party. Refreshed every 13 months per CCPA.
Analytics (off by default)
Help us understand how visitors find and use the site so we can improve it. Loaded only after you accept.
- _ga, _ga_* (cookie) — Google Analytics 4. Used to distinguish unique visitors. Third-party (Google). Duration: 2 years. IP address is anonymized before storage.
Marketing (off by default)
We do not currently run advertising or remarketing on this site. This category exists for future use and is off by default.
3. Managing your choices
On your first visit you saw a consent banner. You can revisit your choices at any time:
- Click “Cookie preferences” in the footer of any page
- Configure your browser to block cookies or alert you when they are set. See allaboutcookies.org for browser-specific instructions
- Use the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on for analytics specifically
Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site (for example, your theme will not persist).
4. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common industry standard for honoring it, but our consent banner defaults all non-essential categories to off, which has the same practical effect.
5. California residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Use the “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” link in the footer to confirm or revisit your preferences.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
